Following a 45-day period of public comment and subsequent deliberation by the Commission, ACAOM has implemented an approved Commission Actions Policy, effective January 27, 2017. The policy outlines formal actions available to the Commission and the process for reviewing and appealing Commission decisions.
An Accreditation Procedures guidance was also published on January 30, which outlines the Commission’s procedures for an institution or program to achieve accreditation. While the Accreditation Procedures document references and is referenced by the Commission Actions Policy, it is composed from previous procedure documents, with minor updates of terms to reflect current U.S. Department of Education nomenclature.
